The male student, a junior in San Antonio, was finally freed from the 2 foot by 4 foot-wide safe.

KSAT reports that on Friday afternoon the student got locked in the sturdy government-issued safe. Apparently, they didn't have the combination because firefighters had to drill holes in the back of the safe to provide the student with air.

My claustrophobia is kicking in just writing this.

There's no word yet HOW he managed to get locked in the safe. I'm guessing there was some monkey business involved.

The school says they will be taking precautions to make sure this doesn't happen again.
