The stars seemingly braved the cold on the red carpet for the 2011 American Country Awards. FOX News correspondent Ashley Dvorkin commented on the chilly weather multiple times, handling her interviews without a shawl or a coat. She was a trooper. The stars were asked about their holiday plans, how much time they spent getting ready before the big show and how they felt about their nominations for these fan-voted awards. Her signature question was what the artists would title a song about this past year.

Jason Aldean, dressed in all black, said that he would name an album about this year ‘Don’t Wake Me Up If I Am Dreaming,’ since ‘My Kinda Party’ has been one of the genre’s most dominant albums of the year.

Scotty McCreery turned up with a cross around his neck, a black shirt and dark blue suit. He looked dapper, but claimed that putting together his stylish look was really quite effortless. “I put this on right before I came out and was on Twitter and Facebook. I was looking at mentions,” the ‘American Idol’ winner said about his pre-carpet ritual of getting ready, which includes social media.

Carrie Underwood, with her hair in a loose bun, was a vision in a light pink, strapless dress, with a short, full skirt and major heels. She accessorized with white teardrop-shaped earrings and gray smoky eyes. She said she is a big fan of awards shows, since “I love seeing everybody dressed up and celebrating good music.” Underwood shivered a few times on the carpet, since she was showing lots of skin in her sexy but tasteful frock. Her ritual wasn’t day-long like the other ladies on the carpet admitted to. Underwood had business to attend to, saying, “I flew in today, had a meeting about my new album and I sat and chatted, and got to do hair and makeup and be a girl for a little while.”

As for that new album, Underwood would not divulge a specific release date, saying, “There is no official date. That’s all very strategic and people have to figure out the right date. I have nothing to do with that. I want to sing new stuff. I am having trouble trimming it down. There are too many songs.”

Miranda Lambert walked the carpet with her fellow Pistol Annies members. Lambert was wearing a black and gold, low cut gown that certainly showed off the twins. It was quite a va-va-voom look, and her hair was fixed in big curls. The Annies joked “three girls playing dress up takes a lot of time” about their pre-event prep.

Chris Young, who has ditched his cowboy hat since the release of ‘Neon,’ was looking handsome in a striped black suit. He spoke about spending holidays with family and giving his band a bonus and time off to be with their families, as well. What a good boss!

Thompson Square‘s Shawna Thompson wore a massive, strapless black dress with gold piping and full skirt, joking that she had been getting ready since 10:30 this morning. Awards show prep is no joke, especially for the ladies.
