Today's spotlight shines on an artist who came to our attention when he auditioned for The Voice, after talent scouts for the television series took notice of his youtube videos.

Sawyer Fredericks began taking voice lessons at age 11, performing in and around his home town of Fultonville, NY. In 2012, Fredericks was a finalist in the Young Artist Talent Search. He auditioned for the eighth season of The Voice, after talent scouts for the program discovered him on YouTube. Fredericks performed "A Man of Constant Sorrow" as his "blind audition" and turned the chairs of all four coaches.

While appearing on The Voice, Fredericks broke many of the shows selling records, with songs that included covers of Seals & Crofts' "Summer Breeze", a duet with his coach Pharrell Williams, Buffalo Springfield's "For What Its Worth" and Niel Young's "Old Man". Fredericks would make it all the way to the finals, where he would run up against former Steel Magnolia singer Meghan Lindsay. Fredericks would perform the last two songs, along with the original song "Please" and upset the favorited Lindsay to become the season 8 champion, the youngest in the program's history.

The prize for his victory was $100,000 and a recording contract with Republic Nashville Records. Fredericks is currently working on his debut for the label, and has released a self-titled, 7-song EP. This week, Fredericks premiered the first single from the EP on the Live Round of The Voice.

It is this single, that is today's focus. Sawyer Fredericks and "Take It All" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
