Grammy Amplifier Winner Adley Stump Debuts ‘Don’t Wanna Love Him’ Video
Adley Stump and Miss USA Olivia Jordan star in the sassy new music video for "Don’t Wanna Love Him." Stump — a winner of the Hyundai and the Recording Academy’s fourth annual GRAMMY Amplifier program — and Jordan are best friends, and their playful camaraderie helps turn the clip into one wild ride.
Stump plays an ex-girlfriend, hoping to warn her former flame's current love (Jordan) about his lying ways. The singer turns up at every opportunity: as a waitress, a busker, a clown … come to think of it, that grey haired lady in the blue shirt looks familiar, too. We won’t spoil the ending, but let's just say the boyfriend gets what he deserves!
"I could not have asked for a better cast, crew and experience bringing my vision for this song to life," Stump says before thanking Hyundai and the GRAMMYs for their partnership.
"It was a dream come true to be a part of my best friend’s music video," Jordan adds. "It has been incredible to watch her career grow and flourish. I couldn’t imagine anyone more deserving of the success she is seeing."
Making the "Don't Wanna Love Him" video was Stump’s prize for being one of three winners in the GRAMMY Amplifier program earlier this year.
"I couldn’t be more humbled to have been acknowledged," she said previously. "There is no better organization I could have wished to learn from and grow not only as an artist, but as a person and a member of the creative community I love so much."
The GRAMMY Amplifier program in partnership with Hyundai gives emerging artists an opportunity for broad-scale success by uploading a song to the dedicated website. From there, the song is "amplified" through likes, shares and plays from fans. A Top 25 is chosen, which is then narrowed to just 10. From there, a group of curators selects the three winners. This year’s winners included Stump, rock band American Bombshell and R&B artist Kirby Maurier.
