Alabama ‘If You’re Gonna Play In Texas’ KLAW Classic [VIDEO]

The K-LAW 101 Saturday Classic was atop the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart 28 years ago today – October 26th, 1984. It was the 14th of 21 straight #1′s for the boys from Fort Payne, Alabama.

That streak of 21 straight chart-toppers began with 1980′s ‘Tennessee River’. It ended 7 years later when ‘Tar Top’ peaked at #7. They would enjoy another 6 consecutive #1′s after that. To date, they are credited with 32 #1 country songs.
