Today's K-LAW Classic celebrates the birthday of Anne Murray - the first Canadian female solo singer to reach No. 1 on the U.S. charts, and the lady credited with paving the way for other Canadian international success stories such as Shania Twain and Celine Dion. She was born Morna Anne Murray June 20th, 1945 in Springhill, Nova Scotia. She's a four-time Grammy Award winner, and has won more Juno Awards (24) from her native country than any other artist. Murray has been inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The song we featured as the K-LAW Classic was written by a member of the Kingston Trio, recorded and taken to #1 by the Monkees in 1967, and was a big hit for Murray in the Spring of 1980. 'Daydream Believer' is the first song in the video medley below from the lady celebrating her 68th birthday today - Anne Murray.
