Mosaic Artist Creates Celebrity Portraits from Trash
Mosaic artist Jason Mecier believes when you call a celebrity “trashy,” you should mean it.
As part of his Celebrity Junkdrawers collection, Mecier makes incredibly creative portraits of stars using things the rest of us would normally throw away (one man’s trash is another man’s…Kathy Griffin visage).
Andy Warhol is depicted using items including dead batteries and, of course, Campbell’s soup cans. Tammy Faye Bakker’s likeness is comprised largely of empty cosmetic bottles and tubes. And Griffin’s portrait is made up of celebrity photos and other things she’s snarked on in her live specials and on her reality show.
Other celebs to get the treatment include Billy Bob Thornton, Lady Gaga, Barack Obama and many more.
