Up-and-coming "garage country" artist Aubrie Sellers is currently out on the road with Miranda Lambert, on Lambert’s Highway Vagabond Tour. Given Sellers' unique musical sound, pairing up with Lambert -- another country woman who's become one of the genre's superstars by being unapologetically herself -- is a perfect fit.

“I think that if I’ve learned anything from her, it’s that if you stick to your guns and stick with it, it’ll work out for you in the end,” Sellers told Taste of Country during her RISERS interview. “I remember talking to her before I had released my record … and I said, ‘Well it’s really different.' That’s all I said, and she said, ‘Well, look — basically, it worked for me.’"

The daughter of Lee Ann Womack and Jason Sellers, Aubrie Sellers admits that she's more introverted than her music and onstage presence would have listeners believe; fortunately, she's found great role models.

“I think it’s important to have those people in your life who are successful, who’ve done this already," Sellers notes, "and to kind of remember at the end of the day that the most important thing is to make sure you’re being true to who you are musically.”

Sellers released her debut album, New City Blues, in January of 2016, as an independent artist, because she wanted complete creative control over the project. After signing with Warner Music Nashville in July, the record was re-released in late September; she recently released "Liar Liar" as the disc's second single.

New City Blues is available for download on iTunes.
