I love radio, but I love it because it keeps me connected to people. I've done almost every job in the business and now I have the honor of working at this station! I am married to a wonderful (now) retired MSgt in the Air Force. The Darin makes regular appearances on my show, but he usually refuses to talk, so I have to tell all his stories for him. Dillon is my stepson and his stories are also familiar to those that listen regularly. Dillon could be the next me. He LOVES being on the radio. Most days, I work from home and do my show with a portable studio that was built for me since I am now semi-retired (at the ripe old age of 34). So, if you hear the dishwasher, the washing machine or the sounds of a 9 year old with his Lego, it's all good!

Better Than Rice: How To Save Your Wet Phone
We've seen just about everything from blow dryers to bags of white rice to help dry out a phone that has been dropped into water (toilets seem to attract phones like honey attracts Winnie the Pooh).
I think I have finally found a SENSIBLE and SCIENTIFIC way to keep your phone from frying if you accidentally drop it in water (unless you have that one phone on TV that you can put in water). It all

How To Explain a BIG Thunderstorm to Kids
I was in the PX recently and a mom was doing some shopping with her two kids (one was six and one was eight). They were talking about the thunderstorm that had blown through the night before and how scared they (including the mom) had been. We were both doing the go-down-every-aisle thing when I heard the smallest child ask, "Mommy, but I don't understand why God is angry when there is big

Blood Moon — The Science & Myth Behind this Amazing Phenomonon
It's not the end of the word, probably. It's some wicked-cool science, though. The Blood Moon is a series of four lunar eclipses that will start on April 15th. They will change the colors that we see and the moon will appear to be red. It's happened for centuries and is known as the tetrad. In fact, I remember sitting on top of our studios in Wichita Falls in 2003 to observe one.

Are Americans Getting Sick Of The Microwave?
Is America's love affair with the microwave over? Sales are down after peaking in 2004 and almost every home has one. The microwave pictured is the one that is in my parent's house right now. It has been in this position since we moved into the house when I was six years old.
I Smell Something Burning
I think I heard that 10 times yesterday (Wednesday). Well, if you said it, too, you were right. There WAS something burning -- but it wasn't an accident.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service set the fire -- and controlled it -- so that Ft. Sill and the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge would be better protected this long, hot summer.
