In case you hadn’t heard, the new ‘Avengers 2’ trailer is here. If you haven’t yet, you should watch it—it’s quite entertaining. If you have already, good you’re in the right place. We’ve gone through this trailer a few times and pulled out some of the more interesting elements to dissect and discuss. We’re not literally going to screencap every single moment (no one needs to see a shot of Tony Stark walking with our commentary of, “Here’s Tony Stark walking…”), just the ones that need highlighting and could reveal some things about the secrets of ‘Avengers 2’. Ready? (Spoilers ahead, obviously.)

Not the new Quinjet (we’ll see that in a second), but a new aircraft used to transport civilians out of a battle zone. While this is at the beginning of the trailer, based on what we’ve seen so far, we know this is closer to the end of the movie (Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch are working together to save people).

Hey, it's the new Quinjet! That doesn't look like Avengers Tower, so where is it headed?

Cap’s helmet looking worse for wear. Gee, I wonder why?

Oh yeah, Ultron is kicking his ass. This is a fight sequence on a large ship. Ultron hasn’t quite reached Prime status yet, but he’s still a force to be reckoned with. He’s here looking for some of that sweet, sweet vibranium from Wakanda, which he’s going to use to give him a near invincible exterior. Cap looks…overmatched.

Here’s a more fully-formed version of Ultron. Like any good villain, he can shoot energy beams out of his hand, beams strong enough to stop even the most powerful of Avengers.

Even ones like Iron Man.

Speaking of vibranium, another look at Andy Serkis’ mysterious character. We’ve spent some time on this here site dedicated to figuring out who Serkis is playing, and it seems very likely it’s Black Panther villain Klaw. He’s the captain of a ship, and possible the captain of the ship that Ultron is trying to hijack for that precious metal.

Speaking of Wakanda, we’re not sure exactly who this mystery woman is, but safe money is that she’s of Wakandan origin, and possibly one of the Dora Milaje—the personal bodyguards—of T’Challa. Wherever this place is, it isn't the first time we've seen it. From the first 'Avengers 2' trailer:

Why are Thor and this woman bathing in the same mineral spring?

OK, we just included this because of that evil smile.

Iron Man slipping and sliding into attack. This, and the other snowy sequences you’ve seen, are from the opening sequence of the film where the Avengers free Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver from Baron von Strucker’s camp.

From that same sequence, Black Widow has upgraded to some serious, heavy artillery.

We include these two shots above because they are our only new shots of the so-called twins in the new trailer. We actually barely see Quicksilver at all in this trailer. And we don’t see Vision at all. This is not a bad thing. There’s still plenty of time to get used to our new teammates.

Thor, in what looks to be a church, but most churches don’t have half-naked women gyrating on the altar (at least not the ones we went to). And, Thor doesn’t look like he’s harnessing the power of lightning, but instead being attacked by it. This could be a vision from Scarlet Witch of Thor back on Asgard (hence the Heimdall and Loki cameos).

Speaking of visions, a young Natasha is having visions of surgical procedures. Maybe Scarlet Witch induced visions of how the Russians turned her into their own version of a super soldier?

You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. And, boy is he about to get angry.

Here’s Hulk looking downright scary. This fight sequence may be the showstopper of the trailers so far, but it’s not even at the film’s end. We’ll guess Hulk’s fragile psyche can’t handle what Scarlet Witch is showing him, hence his emotional state. So it’s up to Tony Stark and the Hulkbuster to come in and try to restore order.
