Looking for something more thoughtful than a tie for dear Dad on Father's Day?  Here are some ideas that would please even the grumpiest of old men.

5. redhawks game

Does Dad like ballgames?  Tickets to a RedHawks game would be a really fun gift.  Family entertainment, great baseball, fireworks and stadium food!  What more could you ask for?  You can take advantage of their half and partial season packages or a 5 game plan.  Each plan comes with an option to add food.  Contact a RedHawks ticketing representative at (405) 218-1000 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting (405) 218-1000 end_of_the_skype_highlighting.

4.play a round of golf

There are some great golf courses in our area.  We have a great municipal golf course there is also Cedar Lakes Golf course.  This hilly course has fast greens. The fairways are undulating and there are many sand bunkers that come into play. There are three ponds and a stream that can affect your shots on several holes. The signature hole is #10, a par 5, with a dogleg left fairway.

My husband David and I have a personal favorite at Fort Cobb Lake.  Don't play the back 9 though!  It's tough!  I play caddy when we get past the front 9.

Does Dad need a little help with his swing before he hits the course.  Get him a gift certificate to GolfMaxx!  He can practice all he wants before he hits the links.

3.get scrubbing

Is Dad's car his pride and joy?  Grab up some sponges and car wax and make it sparkle like the day he bought it!  Doesn't cost you much to give your Dad a nice clean car.  Don't forget the inside!

2. take him camping for the weekend

Does your Dad like to rough it?  Plan a weekend of camping.  Help him clear his schedule by doing some chores for him so he'll have time on the weekend to go with you!  Who knows, maybe you'll bond or something!  We have some great places to camp around our area.   LETRA is a great place to go camping!  If you don't have all the camping gear (like tents and sleeping bags) that's ok.  They have small cabins for rent.  There is lots to do at LETRA too -- Lifeguarded beach swimming area, double flume water-slide, paddle boats,  kayak, and canoe rentals.  There is even fishing, fishing boat rentals, biking, and hiking.   For a complete list of activities check out the Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area website.

And the #1 thing to do with or for Dad on Father's Day

1. Take a Time Out

Just carving out some time for Dad will put a smile on his face.  Chances are, it will be the best Father's Day he's ever had, aside from the one the year you were born, of course!
