Rumors have been swirling that superstar couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert turned down the offer of a million dollar paycheck to perform for one weekend in Las Vegas -- but it appears those rumors are false.

According to gossip news site TMZ, Shelton and Lambert were offered the seven-figure salary to perform three shows at the famed Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Sin City, but when the singers countered with a request for $1.25 million, the arena's operator, AEG, refused.

Not so, AEG maintains.

"AEG and Caesars Entertainment have a wonderful relationship with Blake and Miranda and would love the opportunity to have them perform at any of their venues worldwide, including the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, but the report is not true," they say in a statement (quote via Fox News).

The venue allegedly is in trouble after pop singing sensation Celine Dion postponed the return of her Vegas show at the venue to care for her sick husband, but AEG insists all is well.

"AEG Live and Caesars Palace look forward to announcing upcoming bookings and performances as they become available," they add.

Neither Shelton nor Lambert has commented on the matter, but while they may not be performing in Las Vegas, they still have plenty of celebrating to do. Shelton is nominated for three CMA Awards, while his wife leads the pack of nominees with eight nods. They are competing against each other in two categories, Single of the Year and the night's highest honor, Entertainer of the Year.
