Breaking Bad successfully turned Mr. Chips into Scarface, but did you know that AMC wanted Matthew Broderick or John Cusack for the role of Walter White? Or that Jesse was supposed to die in Season 1? These are just some of the crystal blue persuasions from the thirteenth episode of ‘You Think You Know TV?,’ which cooks up a new batch for AMC’s Breaking Bad!

Sure, Breaking Bad may have broken Guinness World Records as the highest-rated TV series of all time, but creator Vince Gilligan had to fight to get Bryan Cranston in the lead, having previously seen the man's talent from a lone X-Files appearance, whereas execs knew him best as Hal of Malcolm in the Middle. That role would come full circle however, as a Breaking Bad final season extra saw Cranston reprising the Hal role for an alternate ending, in which his time as Walter White was merely a bad dream.
