Brett Young, country music's newest nice guy, has released an evocative new video for his latest single, "In Case You Didn't Know." Watch the full video below.

Young and Nashville songwriters Trent Tomlinson and Tyler Reeve co-wrote the ballad while at a writer's retreat.

"Trent started telling us a story about something his mom always did growing up," Young says in a behind-the-scene video for "In Case You Didn't Know."

"He said every time he’d leave the house, she’d stop him on his way out the door and say, ‘Hey Trent, in case you didn’t know, I love you.’ And me and Tyler both looked at each other and we were like, ‘Well, we gotta write that song.'"

"In Case You Didn't Know" chases universality with the idea of romance, but Young's emotive vocal is enough to make it feel personal. The simple performance video, filmed at the historic Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, Tenn., lends the perfect visual touch to complete the song.

The video begins with the singer serenading the camera from the back of a taxi cab before he enters the Tivoli Theatre for a series of backstage and onstage shots. All the while, Young is emoting into the camera, singing to the lover who isn't there. Again, simple, but well executed.

Already a hit on satellite radio, "In Case You Didn't Know" is Young's follow-up to the 2016 hit "Sleep Without You."
