Lights out! Orange County, California officials are ordering. Some homeowners are being told to take down their Christmas lights. Elaborate holiday displays are a tradition in the Wagon Wheel neighborhood. Many lights are strung across the street on steel cables. These are the lights that have drawn the scrutiny of city officials and have to come down.

County officials say they’re a safety hazard. Some homeowners say they won’t comply. But the county has warned if the lights aren’t taken down, violators risk fines and even misdemeanor charges.

All of the sudden I can hear the sounds of Dr. Suess’s ‘You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch.”
