“Burning House” is inarguably one of the biggest country songs of the year, and Cam’s performance of the emotional track brought down the house at the 2016 ACM Awards.

In a pitch-perfect performance of her hit debut, Cam threw her full emotional range behind the lyrics as she sang, “I’ve been sleep-walking, been wondering all night / Trying to take what’s lost and broke and make it right / I’ve been sleepwalking too close to the fire / But it’s the only place that I could hold you tight / In this burning house.”

Of the track, Cam tells The Boot that the subject -- a dream involving an ex-boyfriend -- forced her to open up.

“It was a therapy session for me while we were doing it," she notes. "It’s already vulnerable, and it’s super embarrassing to sit there with your really close friends and be like, 'Well, let me explain why I messed up this part of my life.'"

Cam is currently out on tour in support of Untamed, her debut album.
