Aerosmith‘s Joe Perry may have initially been skeptical about the band’s collaboration with Carrie Underwood, but the rocker admits he has reconsidered his opinion upon hearing the finished version of the song, appropriately titled ‘Beautiful.’

“Their voices matched up really well,” Perry says of the pairing in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “It doesn’t sound forced. It was just right.”

Described as a country-western crossover ballad, ‘Beautiful’ will appear on the classic rock band’s upcoming project, ‘Music From Another Dimension,’ which drops in November. The inclusion of the Underwood track on the album was a methodical decision to expand the band’s fanbase into the country market.

“People should think back to the one that Bon Jovi did with Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland — that kind of vibe.” explains radio DJ Mike Mullaney, referring to ‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home,’ the Jovi/Nettles pairing. The radio personality was the first to confirm rumors of the cross-genre collaboration between Underwood and Aerosmith.

Judging by Underwood and Tyler’s electrifying 2011 ACM Awards performance and Super Bowl ‘CMT Crossroads’ episode earlier this year, it seems as though we are in for a real treat with ‘Beautiful.’
