Carrie Underwood Giving Back To Her Home Town – Builds Playground
Carrie Underwood. All American Girl. Oklahoma Native. American Idol winner. And now she is giving back after receiving so much. This last week Carrie and over 200 volunteers showed up at Marshall Elementary School in Checotah, Oklahoma and built a playground from scratch. The lot was bare and needed a whole lot of TLC.
Equipment needed to be assembled, landscaping was done, painting a mural in areas and lots of other work was done. And in 8 hours the job was completed. Now when the kids zip down a slide or chase each other around through the tree house they can thank Carrie Underwood.
The entire project was done through the help of a non-profit group called KaBOOM! and Carrie's own organization to help her hometown. It' s called C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town and School Foundation.)
