It's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday and today we feature a young singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who recently stopped by the KLAW studios and set a spell with us. An artist who hales from East Tennesse, and his age belies the experience he brings to the show.

Though just 22 years old, Aaron Tracy has been playing and recording music since he was just 8 years old. Encouraged by his mother, a singer on the Tennessee Hay ride, Aaron learned to play guitar and sing in his hometown of Louisville, KY and began writing songs as a teen. He was still in high school when he played for his first crowd of 10,000 and was a freshman in high school in 2009, when he finished in the top-16 of CMT's Music City Madness Competition. All from a kid who at first had to be bribed to take guitar lessons; now they have to bribe him to put it down.

In college, Tracy and some friends formed the Aaron Tracy Band. The band opened shows for Sara Evans and John Michael Montgomery, eventually finding themselves in the studio to record a full album that featured two singles.

A unique sound that is founded on it's diversity, Tracy moves with ease from modern country to classic country, blending the sounds effortlessly.

Alongside his regular gigs, which includes this Saturday night at the Oklahoma Opry in Oklahoma City, Aaron finds time to play at faith-based shows, including National WELS Lutheran Retreat, DENSO's 25th Anniversary Celebration and the Destination Imagination Global Conference. Aaron spends his time writing, recording and performing, and when he is away from music, its not that far as he does things like working on guitars or enjoying the great outdoors of his native Tennessee.

But Aaron is all about his music, bringing a dynamic to his style of country music that hasn't come around in a long time. He brings elements of the artists he listened to as a kid, such as Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban, to modern country, also blending elements of the Beach Boys and John Mayer, resulting in a sound like no other. When he isn't on the road performing live, Tracy is currently in the studio working on his debut EP and today, the lead single from that project is in our spotlight. Aaron Tracy and his debut solo single "Chillbilly" is today's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
