This Thursday, we focus on a young, unsigned singer/songwriter from Clinton, Indiana, who discovered music at an early age, recognizing her natural talent and dedicating herself to writing and singing the next big song.

Knowing where she wanted to get to, Abbi Scott left Clinton, IN after graduating high school and headed to Nashville to attend Lipscomb University, majoring in communications. But her sights were set on singing and songwriting, playing local venues at every opportunity and sitting in with other artists to hone her songwriting skills. Her drive and magnetic personality drew crowds wherever she performed, which included opportunities to open for established acts like Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Dustin Lunch and Cole Swindell.

Nashville has begun to take note of Scott as a songwriter, which has opened even more doors for her as a performer. She entered the studio with producer Philip White, along with another Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday featured artist Amber Leigh White, producing her debut album Yesterday's Daisies, which was released in 2014. Two previous singles have come from the album,  the title track and "Got My Own Shotgun", both available at Scott's website and on iTunes.

Scott has a promising future in front of her as both a songwriter and performer, solidified by the third single from that debut album, a song which is featured in our spotlight today. Abbi Scott and "Love Wasn't Ready For Me." is today's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll wanna hear it again.
