During the holiday season, we will be featuring the best new sounds of the season, songs that we hope you add to your Christmas play list not only this year, but for many years to come. Today we feature an up-and-coming singer and songwriter who was discovered at an open mic night at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar And Grill in Flint, Michigan, with an original Christmas song.

Born in Macomb, IL and raised in Rochester Hills, MI, Allie Louise has been traveling the northern U.S., playing as many shows, festivals and even appearing at open mic nights that she can in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Many of said she reminds them of Lee Ann Rimes and Tanya Tucker, and outstanding singer and strong guitarist.

The youngest of six children, Allie seems to have inherited the creative gene in the family. Her older siblings are doctors, dentists, teachers and lawyers, but Allie caught the performing bug early in life. She began playing open mic nights while still in high school, and by age 15 she had become a sought after performer, earning her opening slots for established Nashville acts such as Cole Swindell, Justin Moore and Frankie Ballard.

About the same time she started taking the stage, Allie Louise decided to try her hand at songwriting. The song, called "Caryn's Song" was written for her older sister's

wedding, and after Allie performed it at the wedding, she was encouraged to record it, and the song received significant airplay on internet and country radio. Now 17, she released her self-titled debut album in January of 2015. Her lead single, "It's Gettin' Old" became a #1 hit in England, topping their HotDisc chart, a chart for independent artists. Allie followed that up with the single "Perfect Storm".

In November, Allie released an original song for the holidays, that she wrote herself, and that song is in our holiday spotlight Today. Allie Louise and "Hometown Christmas" is or Catch of the HoliDay, new holiday music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
