Today's catch of the day comes from an artist who took an unlikely route to Country music, being born in Los Angeles and raised in upstate New York.

Andy Grammer is a second-generation recording artist, the son of Robert "Red" Grammer, a multi-time Grammy Award nominee for his children's recordings. Andy learned to play the trumpet, piano and guitar by watching his father play as a child. The younger Grammer wrote his first song at age 15, and his musical career started as a street performer in Santa Monica, CA, eventually working his way into club gigs in and around Southern California, including the infamous Viper Room in Hollywood.

Grammer's 2011 self-titled debut album earned a spot on Billboard Magazine's Artist to Watch list, and his first video, "Keep Your Head Up" garnered an MTV O Award for "Most Innovative Video". The video, featuring actress Rainn Wilson, used an interactive interface allowing viewers to send "goofy scenarios" to Grammer, inspired by his video. It also led to the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles featuring Grammer in its "Homegrown Arist" series in 2012.

Grammer followed that success by releasing two EP's; Live From L.A. in 2012 and Crazy Beautiful in 2013. 2014 saw the release of his second studio album Magazines or Novels. His first single from that album "Back Home" was targeted at pop radio, but the second single, which definitely has a more country flare to it is in our spotlight today. Andy Grammer, featuring the Eli Young Band and "Honey, I'm Good" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
