Bleta 'Bebe' Rexha was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was raised on Staten Island, the daughter of Albanian and Yugoslavian immigrants. Her given name, in Albanian, translates to 'bee', so the nickname 'Bebe' was a natural, and one that she was given at an early age. By grade school, Rexha began to show a musical inclination, learning first to play trumpet, then teaching herself to play guitar and piano while still in elementary school. By the time she was a teenager, Rexha had joined the high school choir and began performing in school musicals.

Rexha began song writing while still in high school. As a junior she submitted one of her songs to the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences annual 'Grammy Day' event. Competing with over 700 other entrants, Bebe was named the 'Best Teen Songwriter', which resulted in her being signed by an agent, who recommended Rexha to enroll in songwriting classes.

After graduating from Tottenville High School in 2007, Rexha did enroll in classes, but a chance meeting with Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz led to Rexha joining his side project Black Cards as lead vocalist in 2010. The group released a pair of singles and played many live shows. Rexha left the group in 2012, signing with Warner Brothers as a solo artist in 2013. She would write several top-10 hits for other artists, including the 2013 smash "The Monster", recorded by Eminem and Rhianna, which spent 3 weeks on top of the Billboard Hot100 chart. She would release her debut single, "I Can't Stop Drinking About You" in March of 2014 and has released three EP, the latest All Your Fault Pt. 2 in August.
