Today's focus falls on a song that will never make it to #1 on the country charts. It will probably never make it the artists next greatest hits album. It will never be on anyone's list of the greatest country songs. It will probably not even be released as an official single to country radio. Its just a great song, with a great message from an artist who has a history of bringing us good music.

When you think Blake Shelton, you immediately think of 16 straight (and counting) #1 hits, 9 gold or platinum selling albums, a hit television program The Voice, countless ACM and CMA awards; you probably don't think Gospel music. But with the release of his latest album If I'm Honest looming on the horizon, we are finding that what is coming is an album that reveals more about the Oklahoma native than maybe any of his previous 9 studio projects have before.

Shelton has already said that this album is born of the experience of the divorce he went through in 2015, and its aftermath. With the first single from the album "I Came Here To Forget" revealing part of the pain, the song we are featuring today may just be showing how Shelton made it through it; with the help of his lord and savior.

From the forthcoming album If I'm Honest scheduled for release on May 20th, it will be interesting to see how much of Shelton's experience he shares with his fans. But for now, we will have to settle for what he tells us, and for the songs he chooses to preview for his fans. Our spotlight falls today on the 15th track from the album, a song of faith and hope. Blake Shelton and "Savior's Shadow" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
