Wednesday's Catch of the Day came to us from one half of the hosting team for the upcoming ACM Awards show, Luke Bryan. Today, we feature the other half of the team.

Blake Shelton recently set a country music record when his single "Lonely Tonight" became his 14th consecutive single to reach #1. With a successful recording career, a hit television show and commercial endorsements galore, Blake is quickly becoming the "King of Media."

Born and raised in Ada, Oklahoma, Shelton began singing at an early age and by age 12, he was taught how to play the guitar by his uncle. By age 15, he had written his first song. By age 16, he had received a Denbo Diamond Award in Oklahoma. After graduating from High School at seventeen, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a singing career.

Once in Nashville, Blake got a job at a music publishing company and, in 1997, he was aided by Bobby Braddock to obtain a production contract with Sony Music. Shelton came out of the shoots on fire as his debut single, "Austin" spent 5 weeks at the top of country charts in 2001. His run of #1's began on March 27th, 2010 when his partnering with Trace Atkins "Hillbilly Bone" spent one week at the top of the chart. It was Shelton's 6th number and began a run that saw him break the old record when "Drink On It" hit number 1 in April of 2011.

Shelton is going for 15 in a row with the third single from his most recent album Bringing Back The Sunshine. "Sangria" is that single, and its also today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
