Today's catch of the day comes from an artist that started out in punk rock, but found her niche in country music when she was a performer on The Voice.

In 2012, as a competitor on season three of The Voice, Cassadee Pope found found her voice and a mentor in Blake Shelton, that led her to become the first female champion in the shows history. Funny, too, seeing that her first band, a punk enriched trio she formed while still in High School in Wellington, FL was in fact called Blake.

Pope would soon sign with Republic Records Nashville, and her debut country album, Frame By Frame, was released in October of 2013, meeting with immediate success, debuting at #1 on the country albums chart and #9 on the Billboard Hot 200 albums chart. Her first single, "Wasted All These Tears" climbed to #5 on Billboard's Country Singles chart. This made her the highest charting debuting female solo act since Carrie Underwood hit #1 in 2005 with "Jesus Take The Wheel".

Pope's second single from the debut album didn't meet with the success as the lead single, but "I Wish I Could Break Your Heart" still managed to make it #25 and combined with the success of the first single, made quite a successful debut for an artist that hadn't even considered country an alternative until 2 years previous.

Pope is back in the studio working on a sophomore album, and the lead single from that project is in our spotlight today. Cassadee Pope and "I Am Invincible" is our Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
