Today our focus centers on one of the most successful songwriters in country music today, who is starting to make a lot of waves as a performer also.

As a songwriter, Chris Stapleton has seven #1 hits to his name, including "Never Wanted Nothing More" for Kenny Chesney, "Come Back Song" for Darius Rucker, and his most recent, "Crash and Burn" for Thomas Rhett. Over 150 songs written by Stapleton have been recorded by artists as varied as Tim McGraw, Adele, Peter Frampton and Sheryl Crowe, leading to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) award for most performed song every year from 2006 to 2012.

As a performer, Stapleton is just starting to make some waves. His most recent album Traveller, was recently nominated for the Country Music Association's Album of the Year Award. Singleton also received CMA nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year. But as a performer, Stapleton is probably most noted for stepping in, along with Lady Antebellum, to perform at last year's CMT Artist of the Year event. Stapleton and Lady performed "Drink A Beer", a song written by Stapleton, for Luke Bryan.

Traveler is by far Stapleton's most successful album as a performer. The title track, the first single from the album received incredible critical acclaim, but it failed to chart. Now, with the attention garnered by three CMA nominations that, while well deserved were completely unexpected, the second single from the album has become "highly anticipated"; we have that single in our spotlight today. Chris Stapleton and "Nobody To Blame" is our Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll definitely want to hear it again.
