It's Thursday, and is the custom 'round these parts, today we are featuring another of the outstanding unsigned artists, or artists signed to smaller labels, that Nashville has to offer. Today we feature an artist who was born and raised in the Permian Basin, an area that encompasses the western part of Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

Cory Michael was born and raised in the Midland, Texas area, and grew up listening to country music. Heavily influenced by Texas Red Dirt country, Michael writes and performs in a style, that while unique, sounds familiar. A voracious songwriter, Michael generally performs his own songs, though he will occasionally throw in a cover of a song that influenced him. Along with the Cory Michael Band, the quartet plays regularly through out the southern and western regions of Texas, setting up and entertaining an ever growing legion of fans, wherever and whenever they can.
