‘Catch of the Day’ – Dan + Shay [AUDIO]

Today's Catch of the Day comes from a pair who met in Nashville as writing partners and who's first collaboration was snatched up by Rascal Flatts. Nice start!

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney had both achieved minor success as solo artists or as members of a group before coming together in 2013. Mooney was a solo artist, signed to Nappy Boy Entertainment and Smyers was a member of the group Bonaventure. Mooney had also written and sung background on songs for his then girlfriend, Veronica Ballestrini. He is reportedly the subject of her song "Death of Me" and sang back ground on the track.

The Duo's debut album Where It All Began features the Top 20 singles "19 You + Me" and "Show You Off". It lead to spots opening for Hunter Hayes and Blake Shelton, followed by their own 12-date headlining tour, which began on October 9, 2014 in Minneapolis and wrapped up in Columbus Ohio on October 26th. They are currently opening for Hayes on the Tattoo (Your Name) tour.

Today's Catch is the third single from Where It All Began. The single, "Nothin' Like You" drops on February 23rd, but its today's Catch of the Day...new music you haven't heard, but you will want to hear it again...
