Today's catch of the day comes to us from yet another of those dreaded rock stars who think they can do country music. An artist whose group that he is most famous for performing with would quite probably be considered Country, if they were getting their start today. An artist born and raised in Texas.

Oh, yeah, and it features Martina McBride.

Don Henley was the drummer, co-lead vocalist and founding members of The Eagles, a band who helped to create the phrase and the music genre "Southern Rock." He also established himself as a solo artist, releasing 3 solo albums while The Eagles were on "a 14-year vacation" from 1980 to 1994. The first, 1982's I Can't Stand Still featured three singles, including the #1 hit "Dirty Laundry".

Henley's second solo project, 1984's Building The Perfect Beast, gave birth to 4 singles, with "The Boys of Summer" and "All She Wants To Do Is Dance" reaching the top of the pop charts. 1989's release, The End Of the Innocence struck paydirt for Henley, with 7 singles being released, 5 of which reached the top-10, but none of those hitting #1. The album's two most successful singles, "I Will Not Go Quietly" and "The Heart of the Matter" both peaked at #2.

After the Eagles first reunion, a tour and live album in 1994, a fourth solo album was released in 2000, while the Eagles were again on "hiatus".Inside Job released four singles, with all failing to reach the top-20. Henly has also issued to compilation albums, 1995's Actual Miles: Henley's Greatest Hits and The Very Best of Don Henley.Actual Miles issued three singles, but neither album featured new singles that reached the top-20.

While the Eagles have been back out on tour the past few years, Henley has been spending his down time in the studio, working on a new album of solo material. The album, tentatively titled Cass County, is reportedly a country album and is slated for release on September 25th. The title refers to Cass County, Texas, where Henly grew up. The first single from the project is a duet with Martina McBride and is in our spotlight today. Don Henley, featuring Martina McBride and "That Old Flame" is our Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
