It's Thursday and as always, today we turn our attention to an unsigned artist or one who is signed to one of the many independent record labels in Nashville and throughout the country. Our focus today is on a young singer and songwriter from Covington, GA, who cites his father as his largest musical influence.

Dustin Bragg is the youngest of three brothers who grew up about 30 miles southeast of Atlanta. While his older brothers were busy playing baseball and football, younger brother Dustin was hunting and fishing and learning to play guitar. Music was an important part of Dustin's life from an early stage; he began playing guitar at age 8, learning from a good source, his father Tiger. Tiger was the guitarist and front man for the Tiger Bragg Band, a local group that made a name around the Covington area.

Dustin got his start playing local benefits for organizations like Toys for Tots and St. Judes, while also performing at benefits like the "Koncert for Kerbow" and the "Jonathan Bell Memorial Concert". He teaches guitar to local kids around the Covington area, and his desire to help others is as big as the outdoors he grew up in.

Dustin was inspired by some of the biggest names in country and southern rock. Artists as diversified as the Eagles, Merle Haggard, AC/DC and Bruce Springsteen influenced the young Bragg, influences that nurtured a style unique and versatile.

Bragg is currently in the studio working on his debut album, which is tentatively scheduled for a late summer release; the first single from the project is in our spotlight today. Dustin Bragg and "One Way Ticket Home" is the Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
