Bringing Florida Georgia Line together with Tim McGraw, is a definite meeting of generations. There are many, myself included, who thought that this pairing would not have been possible, as recently as FGL's second album. But with a definite maturing of their music, the meeting of the top duo of the bro-country era and the top selling artist of the first decade of this millenium is not only possible, its incredible!

Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard came as Florida Georgia Line in Nashville in 2010, signing first a publishing deal in 2011 (with Big Loud Shirt Publishing) and then a recording deal with Republic Nashville in 2012. After writing several songs for other artists

(including Jason Aldean), they sat down with Chase Rice and wrote what would eventually be the duo's debut single "Cruise". The single was released on December 4th 2012, and served as the lead single for their debut album Here's To The Good Times.

And what a lead it would be. The song spent a total of 24 weeks (non-concurrent) at the top of the Billboard Country Downloads chart. It would also spend 3 weeks at the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It would go on to become the best selling country digital song of all-time, with over 7 million downloads to date. The group's two albums, Here's To The Good Times and Anything Goes have been certified platinum and have produced 11 top-10 hits, with 10 hitting #1.

Tim McGraw didn't have the success with his debut single and album that Florida Georgia Line have. Its the only one of his 14 studio albums that hasn't been certified gold, platinum or double platinum. Add to that four greatest hits compilations which also achieved gold or better certification and that's 17 out of 18 for McGraw. And all 17 of those album have topped the country albums chart for at least one week. His 55 top-10 and 28 #1 hits surpass all other country artists from 1994 to 2016. And he still finds time to appear in hit movies like "The Blind Side", "Friday Night Lights", "Flicka" and "Country Strong".

The trio is in our spotlight today, with the second single from Kelley & Hubbard's third album Dig Your Roots, due out August 26th. Florida Georgia Line, featuring Tim McGraw and "May We All" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard. but you'll want to hear it again.
