Today's feature highlights a duo who have had major success from the moment their debut single hit the airwaves. That single became the longest running #1 single in not only the history of the country charts, but of any single in the history of ANY music chart, and of any music genre.

In 2008, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard met after Kelley walked away from a baseball scholarship at Florida State University, transferring to "Country Music U", Belmont University in Nashville. The pair began writing together after meeting in a campus prayer group at the Christian college, famed for graduates like Brad Paisley, Sarah Cannon (Minnie Pearl), Trisha Yearwood and Lee Ann Womack. Hubbard and Kelley quickly began performing together, and based on Kelley's youth in Ormond Beach, FL and Hubbard's in Monroe, GA, Florida-Georgia Line was born.

While working odd jobs around Nashville, and becoming roommates, the duo began independently producing their first project, an EP called Anything Like Me, which they released on their own in 2010, and featured six songs written by Kelley and Hubbard. The EP featured the song "Black Tears", which was covered by Jason Aldean on his 2012 album Night Train. The duo followed it up with a 5-song EP in 2012, It'z Just What We Do, which feature two songs that would become singles for FGL, "Cruise" and "Get Your Shine On". The EP was released on Big Loud Mountain Records in 2012 and would catch the attention of Republic Records Nashville.

Republic would release "Cruise" as Kelley & Hubbard debut single, and the lead single from their first full-length album Here's To The Good Times. The song would go on to spend 24 week's at #1, more than any other single of any genre in the history of music charting. The song would sell over 7 million copies, making it the best selling country digital single of all time.

Florida-Georgia Line would see its first 9 singles, and 10 of 11 over all singles (only 2015's "Anything Goes" failed to hit #1, peaking at #5) hitting the top spot on the country charts, with their first two albums, Get Your Shine On and Anything Thing Goes being certified platinum. Hubbard and Kelley spent the last part of 2015 and the beginning of 2016 back in the studio working hard on their third album, Dig Your Roots. The album is scheduled for release late this year, and we have the lead single from the project in our spotlight today. Florida-Georgia Line and "H-O-L-Y" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
