‘Catch of the Day’ – Jenna Torres – “Heart On Wheels” [AUDIO]

The Catch of the Day prides itself in bringing you the best young artists before you hear them on your radio.Today we bring you an artist that is a bit of an anomaly, a singer and songwriter from New York City, who songs have a sound strait from the heartland of America.

Jenna Torres is a walking contradiction. She is a city girl with a back road sound, soft spoken and reserved with a big voice that is a force of nature, her blending of classic and modern country shows that music from the heartland, must first come from the heart, no matter where that heart is from. Signed to a publishing deal with Warner Music Group, Torres has found success as a songwriter, now she wants to find bigger success as a performer.

It was a long trip for Jenna from New York City to Nashville, traveling down every highway and bi-way. With a voice that blends the best of Dolly Parton & Sheryl Crow, with the grit of a New York City subway, Torres' song writing opened doors for her in Nashville, signing a publishing deal with the Warner/Chappell Music group in 2004, she released her debut album Wild Flower in 2005.

Including the Wild Flower, Torres has released four albums for Indy label Southern Skye Records. She is currently in the studio with producer Billy Smiley, who has won

Grammy awards for his work with Johnny Cash, Be Be and Ce Ce Winans and Clay Aiken, along with musicians who have worked with Robert Plant, Taylor Swift, Bob Seeger and Ricky Skaggs, working on a brand new album, Wild Sugar.
