Thursday is upon us again, giving us the opportunity to introduce you to another of Nashville's well kept secrets, an unsigned or independent label artist that we feel needs to be known. Today, an artist from an area better known for grunge and coffee, who's love for music comes from before she could even form complete sentences.

Kaitie Wade was born in the great northwest, growing up in the Seattle, Washington area, but at age 17 took a gigantic leap of faith and moved to Nashville to pursue her country music dreams. She recorded her debut single, "Tail Lights" in 2015 and received rave reviews from both industry executives and music publications.Wade headed into the studio with a handful of songs and began preparing her debut EP.

While continuing to play dates around the Nashville area, Kaitie did what all good, young country artist did in Nashville, attended Belmont University, receiving her Bachelors degree in vocal performance. Belmont has produced such country music stars as Brad Paisley, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, Trisha Yearwood and Josh Turner, just to name a few. While attending Belmont, Wade began work on her debut EP, polishing and refining the project until it was ready. On April 28th, her debut EP, Starts With A Song was released, Kaitie having written or co-written all the songs on the project.

Wade has come a long way in five years; from a 17-year old who came to Nashville with no band, no band, absolutely no contacts and no training what-so-ever, she has driven her love of country music to where her debut EP is on the mind of music publications everywhere. She is currently touring as Russell Dickerson's opening act, and she has recently been recognized by Next Star Now and by Hillbilly Express Radio as a "Superstar in the Making".
