Today our focus turns to an artist who has released 14 studio albums, 12 have which have been certified gold or better. The only two that haven't reached certification are his first, In My Wildest Dreams, and his most recent, Cosmic Hallelujah, which was released in October and is already on its way to certification.

Kenny Chesney is a four-time winner of the CMA Entertainer of the Year award, while winning the corresponding ACM award four consecutive years. He was also named the Billboard Magazine Top Touring Artist from 2005-2009, and again in 2011. But back in 1992 he was just a young singer from Tennessee, who was looking to live a dream. He met BMI's head of writer relations Clay Bradley, who was so impressed by the singer that he wrote a glowing recommendation to a friend at the Opryland Music Group. It led  to an audition for Chesney, who performed five songs and left the audition with a publication deal. It also led to a songwriter's showcase, which led to Chesney being signed by Capricorn Records less than a year later.

Capricorn signed Chesney to what became a one record deal, releasing In My Wildest Dreams in 1994. The album charted two singles, but Capricorn closed its Nashville division in 1995, moving operations to Atlanta. Chesney would sign with BNA Records the same year, releasing his first noteworthy album All I Need To Know. It would be the first of 11 studio, 3 compilation and 1 Christmas albums he would release for the label, in conjunction with Chesney's own label Big Blue Chair Records starting in 2008. All 15 albums would be certified gold or better by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of 500,000 copies.

When BNA Records closed it's doors in 2012, Chesney took his beach chair,  and the distribution rights to his albums to Columbia Records Nashville. 4 more studio albums have followed, and the combined 15 studio, 3 compilation and 1 Christmas albums have all gone gold with the exceptions In My Wildest Dreams and the 2008 Super Hits albums. The albums have produced 47 top-10 hits, with 26 #1s. Chesney's most recent album, Cosmic Hallelujah, has dropped two single to this point, with the most recent, his duet with Pink, "Setting The World On Fire" hitting #1. The third single from the album is in our spotlight today. Kenny Chesney and "Bar At The End of The World" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you're gonna want to hear it again.
