‘Catch of the Day’ – Kenny Chesney – “Noise” [AUDIO]

Today we turn our focus to a superstar who has 14 gold (or better) certified albums out of 15 released, 28 number 1 singles and has taken home the CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year an amazing four times each. Plus, he has really good taste in baseball teams.

Kenny Chesney has has incredible success as both a recording and touring act. In 2007, His Flip Flop Summer Tour was the top tour in country music and he has seen all but one (his 1994 debut album In My Wildest Dreams) of his albums has been certified platinum or better by the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A.). He has been a movie producer and director, working with ESPN on the 2012 documentary The Boys of Fall documenting the allure of football in the south, be it High School, College or Professional, and a philanthropist who supports St. Judes Hospital for Children, Farm Aid, and the V Foundation, founded by former North Carolina State basketball coach Jim Valvano for cancer research.

And in his spare time he hangs out on the beach in the islands or Fenway Park in Boston watching his beloved Red Sox, or with his good buddy, future NFL hall-of-famer Peyton Manning. Not bad for a kid from Knoxville, TN, the son of a teacher and a hairdresser, who wanted to be a baseball or football player until he was given his first guitar while in high school.

After graduating high school, Chesney attended East Tennessee State University, where he earned a degree in advertising. Many believe it is this degree that has driven his ethic on the road, to constantly be out "advertising" his music to the fans, constantly changing and updating his presentation to his fans, keeping his shows constantly fresh. Chesney has headlined a new tour every year since 2000, except for 2014, with a brand new tour to keep the fans coming back for more.

Chesney is back for more, recently announcing his 2016 Spread The Love tour, also announcing a new album he is expecting to hit the streets in May. The first single from that, as yet unnamed album is hitting radio hard and is in our spotlight today.
