Lee Ann Womack was born & raised in Jacksonville, TX, the daughter of a disc jockey who discovered country music helping her father chose songs to play on the air. Her debut album struggled with comparisons to LeAnn Rimes, with industry executives even suggesting she change her name. Womack refused. 8 studio albums later, she's still going strong, writing her own music and doing things her own way.
