Today we feature a duo that come from the country music hotbeds of Kokomo, Indiana and Baltimore, Maryland. A group that has bounced between records companies while going through a name change, and came out of it with back-to-back top-10 hits from  their 3rd album.

Chris Lucas and Preston Burst, better known as LoCash, came together at Nashville's Wild Horse Saloon, where they worked together as the club's d.j.'s. As they worked, they would talk about their musical influences, which included gospel music and some 80's heavy metal bands like Motley Crue and Quiet Riot. They began writing songs together while slowing putting together a band, which was originally known as the LoCash Cowboys.

While the performing end of the partnership was a slow build, they got their names out there as songwriters, penning songs for a myriad of country performers, including the #1 hit "You Gonna Fly" for Keith Urban. In 2008 the pair signed with Stroudavarious Records, which became R & J Records in 2011, and recorded their self-titled debut album, releasing three singles, including the top-40 hit "Keep In Mind".

After R&J Records was "restructured" in 2012, Lucas and Burst found themselves without a label, as did several other of R&J's artists. LoCash Cowboys would sign with Colt Ford's Average Joes Entertainment in late 2012, releasing their second album, also self-titled, in 2013. The album would feature two singles, both of which failed to crack the top-50 on the Billboard Country Singles chart.

2015 would be a year of change for the LoCash Cowboys. First, they dropped "cowboys" from their name, choosing to be called simply LoCash. They would sign with independent label Reviver Records, releasing the single "I Love This Life" in February. The single would serve as the lead single and title track from the group's label debut, an EP that was released in October of the year. The single would go on to become Lucas and Burst's first top-10 single, peaking at #2 in January of 2016.

They would follow it up with "I Know Somebody", which would be released in February. Both songs would be featured on the album The Fighters, which hit stores in June, leading to "I Know Somebody" becoming their first #1 hit in October.

The third single from the album is in our spotlight today. LoCash and "Ring On Every Finger" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
