Today's catch of the day is from an artist that first came to our attention last November, when he was the opening act for Dustin Lynch on the Taste of Country Christmas tour.

At that time, is was quite obvious that Logan Mize was an artist who was soon to be recognized. He had out audiences amazed as he did an incredible 45 minute acoustic set that left everyone wanting more. Logan's first exposure came on the "Fabric of Our Life" cotton commercial, appearing with Hayden Panettiere of Nashville. He also played himself and performed on the CW series Heart of Dixie. Mize old saw both assignments as great ways to trumpet his debut CD, 2012’s Nobody In Nashville.

Mize is no stranger to touring, having opened shows for Lynch, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, Blake Shelton, Billy Currington, LeAnn Rimes and Hank Williams, JR. That’s pretty lofty company for a kid born in Wichita, Kansas, who grew immersed in the music of Tom Petty, Elton John, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, The Wallflowers, Nirvana, the Foo Fighters and Stone Temple Pilots. Logan is the nephew of Billy Mize, who is considered a pioneer in the Bakersfield country sound that emerged in California and was popularized by Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.

Mize just recentlty signed with Arista Nashville, and his first big-label release, a brand new EP entitled Pawn Shop Guitar debuted on May 19th, and the first single for the EP is in our spotlight today. Logan Mize and "Can't Get Away from a Good Time" is our Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
