It's a new week, and today we kick it off by featuring an artist who has become almost as well known for his mini-tours as he has for his platinum albums. An artist who got his break writing songs for traditional artists like Travis Tritt and Billy Currington, but who has become recognized, along with Florida-Georgia Line, as a leader of the "Bro Country" movement. A performer who is almost as well associated with crashing into things as he has become for "Crash My Party".

Luke Bryan hit Nashville in 2004, get his start writing songs for Travis Tritt, Billy Currington and others, and releasing the first of his Spring Break album series, before signing with Capitol Records Nashville in 2007. Luke was originally going to move to Nashville in 1995, at the age of 19, but the death of his older brother Chris, caused Luke to decide to stay closer to home. He then attended Georgia Southern University, earning a degree in Business Administration while keeping his eye on Music City. After returning home for awhile after graduating, his father told him to pack his things, get in his truck and pursue his dream.

His debut album, I'll Stay Me, was released in 2007, featuring the lead single and top-10 hit "All My Friends Say". The album, Bryan's only full-length album to have not been certified platinum, featured two more singles, including the #10 hit "Country Man". Bryan has since released 4 studio albums (all platinum) including the 2013 album Crash My Party, the only album of

any music genre to feature 6 number 1 hits. Bryan has also released 7 EP of music recorded during his "Spring Break" mini-tours, which he conducted annually between 2008 and 2015. He also has conducted his annual "Farm Tour", playing smaller, rural locales, usually in the fall, starting in 2014. He released an EP of 2016's Farm Tour in September. In 2015, Bryan began a group of annual dates in Mexico, called Crash My Playa in Barcelo, Mexico.

All this, and he still has time to make some pretty good music. Bryan's 5 studio albums have featured 20 top-10 hits, including 16 #1's. He has also secured 3 #1's working with Jason Aldean & Eric Church, Florida-Georgia Line and as part of the Artists of Then, Now and Forever on "Forever Country". His most recent album "Kill The Lights" has already scored five chart toppers, and he is looking to tie his record with a sixth single from the album, which is in our spotlight today. Luke Bryan and "Fast" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
