Today we feature an up-and-coming singer and songwriter who made the move to Nashville in 2014, and while he didn't immediately hit boil, his music has been on a steady simmer since making the big move from his home town of Asheville, North Carolina.

Tar Heel state native Luke Combs has been singing since he was old enough to walk, but really didn't discover his true talent until he was attending Appalachia State College. During his junior year in 2012, he learned to play guitar and began playing shows around the school soon after, and has been playing constantly ever since. After finishing up with school, he moved to Nashville to pursue his dream. He released a pair of EP's, The Way She Rides and Can I Get An Outlaw, in 2014, and in 2015 released a third EP, This One's For You, which peaked at #5 on the iTunes Country Albums chart.

To properly support the third EP, Combs formed a band and took his show on the road, opening for Travis Tritt, Eli Young Band, Old Dominion, Chase Rice and Kelsea Ballerini among others, the new comer took his act to the fans. The release of his debut single "Hurricane" peaked fans interest, and the song climbed to #46 on the Billboard Country Singles chart, with little or no fan fare.

With the recent release of the video for "Hurricane", directed by Tyler Adams, the single has been re-released, without the backing of a record company. The single is in our spotlight today as our Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you're gonna want to hear it again.
