Today we feature a first on Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday; a Nashville group that from the country music hotbed of Minneapolis, MN. A group whose debut album has been listed by many websites and publications as "one to watch" of young Nashville artists.

When you listen to Maiden Dixie, the group's influences come at you like a runaway train. Lead vocalist Channing Holmes points to Miranda Lambert, Joss Stone and Shania Twain, while guitarist and vocalist Jesse Becker says he was influenced by the sounds of Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Other band members sight the influences of Brad Paisley, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and Mozart. Put them into a musical blender and what comes out is a unique, eclectic sound that will enthrall country music fans of all ages and tastes.

The band released their second EP Unsafe and Sound in April of 2015; within weeks, the group was sitting atop iTunes Contemporary Country New and Noteworthy listing. They have spent the last 15 months touring across the nation, promoting the EP and performing more than 150 shows. But in between touring and writing new material, the group has found time to produce two videos, working with award-winning director Zack Dyer, with the concept video for their single "The Road" found its way to CMT and GMC.

While criss-crossing the country promoting the EP, Maiden Dixie still find time to get into the studio and work on their first full-length album, Wrecked. Highlighting the songwriting talents of singer Himes and guitarist Jonathan Krentz, the album channels Himes' vocal energy, Krentz and Beckers guitar skills and the varied musical talents of bassist Drew Sherman, fiddle player Zachary Scanlan and drummer Tyler Kloewer to produce a sound unlike any other.
