Today's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday feature focuses on an artist that was born and raised outside of Akron, Ohio, who moved to Nashville in 2015 to further his career. And while his feet are in Nashville, his heart will always be in his native Ohio.

Mark Leach got his first taste of performing while he was in high school, playing with several local bands. While in college in 2008, he took what he learned playing in other people's bands, and formed his own group, playing clubs and festivals in Ohio and quickly developing as a local favorite. He continued to play that circuit, until recently turned the page to open a new chapter in his life.

After releasing the 2013 album With Love From Tennessee, Leach continued to tour heavily in the time since. He has managed to find time to make it into the studio, releasing the EP Let's Get Lost in 2014, which made it to #23 on the iTunes chart. He followed that project with the 2016 EP, Homemade, which was released in March of this year. But it has been his grass roots approach that has made Leach a hit at live shows, where he has opened for artists including Eric Church, Gary Allan, Scotty McCreery, Easton Corbin and Granger Smith.

In 2015, Leach felt that while he would always be a Buckeye at heart, with so many supportive Ohio fans, it was time to make the full-time move to Nashville. In the time since, he has worked at building his career as a songwriter, writing with several prominent Music Row songwriters, writing close to 50 new songs, giving him quite the selection to chose from for his next album. And while Homemade, was the first page of the new chapter in Mark Leach's career, knowing there is more yet to be written.
