Today is Thursday and once again we bring to you one of the best of the young crop of unsigned or independent label artist who are looking to become part of country music's future. Today we feature an artist who was born and raised in the small railroad town of Thayer, MO, who ironically enough, is related to legendary country artist Jimmy Rodgers, "The Father of Country Music" who honed his craft in the railroad city of New Orleans and while riding the rails of the Northeastern Railroad.

Michael Tyler has already made his name in Nashville as a songwriter, but it was a meeting on Myspace when he was just 13 that mapped out the singer and songwriter's road to Nashville. Michael began playing and singing at age 8, teaching himself the ins and out of performing and songwriting and it was on the social media platform that Tyler met and began a working relationship with legendary producer Michael Knox, that would start with Tyler sending Knox songs he had written, and after a few years of sending ideas back and forth, the pair would meet face-to-face when Tyler performed at the legendary Tootsie's Lounge in Nashville. After watching the young singer perform a few shows, it was agreed it was time for him to make the permanent move to Music City.

Now at age 24, Tyler's road has been paved with songs recorded by Jason Aldean, LoCash and the recent #1 hit for Dierks Bentley, "Somewhere On A Beach". Already respected in Nashville as a song writer, Tyler recently signed with the independent label Reviver Records and is putting together the pieces of a debut album to take into the studio to record. He has already completed his debut single, the lead for the project, which is in our spotlight today. Michael Tyler and "Crazy Last Night" is our Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
