Today's catch of the day comes from probably the best selling Canadian female country singer in history...not named Shania Twain or Anne Murray.

Growing up in Merlin, Ontario, Canada, Michelle Wright heard the sound of Motown streaming out of Detroit, just 45 minutes to the south. But her parents were both country performers, her earliest memories filled with rhinestone studded suits, steel guitars and fiddles. In 1980, she went to college to study to become a counselor for the mentally challenged, but just a year into her training, the music came calling and Michelle was off to tour North America and by 1985, she had signed with Savannah Records and was working on her debut album.

In the 90's, Michelle Wright had a string of country hits in Canada, including six #1's, "Take It Like a Man", "One Time Around", "Guitar Talk", "One Good Man", "Nobody's Girl" and "Crank My Tractor". Her biggest success in the U.S. was "Take It Like a Man", which peaked at #10 on the charts here. In 1993 and 1995 Wright won the Canadian Country Music Association's Fan's Choice Award. She was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Association Hall of Fame in 2011.

Today's featured song is the fifth single off of Wright's 2013 album Strong. Michelle Wright is in the spotlight today with "Laugh A Little", the Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
