‘Catch of the Day’ – Nick Hickman – “Tailgate Dance Floor” [VIDEO]

It's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday, and today we keep up our tradition of bringing you new artists you may have not ever heard of, but, in our opinion, you should be hearing from them in the future. Today we feature a singer and songwriter from Knoxville, TN, who moved to Nashville in 2014 to pursue the dream, and its starting to pay off with the release of his debut album, performing with Nash Next in 2015, signifying his status as "one to watch" in country music.

In 2014, singer-songwriter Nick Hickman made the move from his home-town of Knoxville to Nashville, TN, to pursue his country music dream. His first year was full of song-writing and recording, leading to the release of his debut single, “Summertime Southern Style”; in May of 2015, Nick released the video for the song on YouTube.

Right after releasing the video, Hickman signed on to Nash Next, the Nashville artist development program, landing among the top twenty-five contestants. The competition gave Nick the opportunity to develop his live performances, as well as refining his writing and recording processes.

With the release of his debut EP in May, Hickman is an artist who's reputation is building in and around Nashville. The second single from that EP is in our spotlight today.
