It's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday and today's catch of the day comes to us from a singer/songwriter from Alabama who make you harken back to the country music you remember.

With the radio on his father's tractor playing Keith Whitley, Alan Jackson, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Clint Black, and so many other great country artists, as a kid Phillip McCurry found himself relating to those songs, noticing how his dad would sing just about every song that was playing, noticing how a song would make him feel. Phillip started following in his dad's shoes, putting emotion in those songs he was singing, quickly realizing that he could deliver a country song in a style all his own.

McCurry began singing locally in his family band, getting on stage anywhere and everywhere he could. His love for entertaining the crowd would later carry him in to honky-tonks, where he started singing in a different style. This style would later become who Phillip McCurry really is.

But, that dream was interrupted by a near death accident that caused McCurry to give up his dream. Now five years later, Phillip McCurry has a whole new look on life, and the dream is back on track and more alive than ever!! He's begun to work on his brand new, debut album entitled Pain, and is planning a tour this summer following it's release.

The debut single and title track from that project in our spotlight today. Phillip McCurry and "Pain" is our Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll definitely want to hear it again.
