Today we turn our attentions to an artist who was mentored by Blake Shelton in season 2 of The Voice (but then again, who in country music hasn't been mentored by Blake Shelton?), who auditioned for the show with the song "Hell on Heels" from the

Pistol Annies. She went on to make it to the quarter finals before being eliminated, and when her debut single landed on the Billboard Bubbling Under chart in 2012, she became the show's first alumnus to appear on a chart.

Born Racheal Lynn Woodward in Baytown, Texas, Raelynn was just 18 and barely out of high school when she auditioned for season 2 of the singing contest television program, The Voice. She did so at the encouragement of a song writing partner, who also auditioned, and both were turned chairs; RaeLynn selected Blake Shelton to be her coach, while her partner chose Adam Levine. RaeLynn would survive on the program until the quarter finals where she would end up in the bottom 2 and would be eliminated by her coach.

After the show RaeLynn was signed by Republic Nashville Records in 2012. Her debut single "Boyfriend" was released on December 12, 2012 and peaked at #32 on the Billboard Country Singles chart at #18 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles

Chart, making her the first contestant from the voice to land a single on any major U.S. chart. She would appear, along with Miranda Lambert and Pistol Annies, doing backing vocals on Shelton's #1 hit "Boys 'Round Here" in 2013, and in 2014 released her second single, "God Made Girls", which peaked at #16 on the Country Singles chart. Both of her singles appeared on her 2015 debut EP, ME.

For the release of the EP, RaeLynn had signed with Big Machine Record's subsidiary label Valory Records. After less than enthusiastic sales of the EP, as well as cold repsonse to her follow-up single "For A Boy", RaeLynn parted ways with the label, signing with Warner Nashville in June of 2016. In July, she released "Love Triangle" which after a slow climb, peaked at #26. The single served as the lead for her first full-lengthed album, WildHorse, which was released in March.
