Today's catch of the day comes to us from a singer/songwriter who was first came to Nashville's attention by writing a smash hit, about a part of a female's anatomy.

Randy Houser's first time in the country music spotlight came in part thanks to the female anatomy and in part to Trace Adkins. Houser co-wrote Adkins 2005 smash hit "Honky-tonk Badonk-a-donk" with Jamey Johnson and Dallas Davidson, reaching the top-10 on both the Billboard Country and Hot 100 charts. This success gave Houser the ability to focus on his performing career, playing in and around Nashville clubs, leading to his signing with MCA Nashville in 2006.

Houser's short relationship with MCA failed to produce an album or a single, and he signed with Universal South Records in 2008, releasing "Anthing Goes' as his debut single in May of that year. The single peaked at #16 on the charts, and was followed by Houser's true break through single, "Boots On" which was preceeded by the release his debut album, Anything Goes, in November. The single was released in February of 2009 and peaked at #2. Later that year, Houser received two CMA nominations, for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and for Video of the Year for "Boots On".

Houser then ran into a bit of a brick wall as his next four singles failed to crack the top-30, with all but one of those failing to make the top-40. This led to another change in record labels as he left Showdog-Universal South in 2011 and moved to Broken Bow Records. This change seemed to be exactly what he needed, as his first single for the label, 2013's "How Country Feels", became his first #1 hit. The single was the title track for an album that featured two other #1 hits, "Running Outta Moonlight" and "Like A Cowboy", as well as a fourth single, "Goodnight Kiss" which peaked at #2.

Off of the success of the How Country Feels album, Randy Houser is back in the studio, working on a follow up for Broken Bow Records. Today, we debut the first single off of that as yet untitled album. Your Catch of the Day today is "We Went", new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
